The MAX17608ATC+T is an adjustable overvoltage and overcurrent protection device from Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated, designed to safeguard systems from input voltage faults. It supports a wide input voltage range from 4.5V to 60V and can handle negative input voltages down to -65V. The device features low 260mΩ typical on-resistance FETs.
This IC offers programmable current-limit protection up to 1A, allowing control over inrush current during startup. The current limit threshold is set using an external resistor. Fault response modes include Autoretry, Continuous, and Latch-off. The MAX17608 and MAX17610 variants block reverse current flow, while the MAX17609 allows it.
Designed for robustness, the MAX17608ATC+T includes thermal shutdown protection. It is housed in a compact 12-pin, 3mm x 3mm TDFN-EP package, suitable for surface mounting. The operating temperature range is extended from -40°C to +125°C, making it ideal for industrial applications.
Key applications include sensor systems, condition monitoring, factory automation, process instrumentation, and battery-operated modules. Its flexible design options and integrated FETs help reduce board space and Bill of Materials (BOM) count.
