The MAX17561AUD+ by Analog Devices is an adjustable overvoltage and overcurrent protection device designed to safeguard systems from input voltage faults up to ±40V. It features low 100mΩ (typ) RON FETs, enhancing system robustness.
The device provides flexible design options with adjustable overvoltage lockout (OVLO) and undervoltage lockout (UVLO) thresholds, ranging from 6V to 36V and 4.5V to 24V respectively. Factory-preset internal thresholds are 33V (typ) for OVLO and 19.2V (typ) for UVLO. It also includes programmable current-limit protection from 0.7A to 4.2A with ±15% accuracy.
Additional protection features include reverse current and thermal-shutdown protection. The MAX17561 variant turns off after a 20.7ms (typ) blanking time and retries. The IC is available in a compact 14-pin TSSOP package measuring 5mm x 6.5mm and is specified for an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
Applications for the MAX17561AUD+ include industrial equipment, consumer electronics, marine equipment, and battery-powered applications, making it suitable for demanding power protection scenarios.
