The MAX1742EEE from Analog Devices is a constant-off-time, pulse-width-modulated (PWM) step-down DC-DC converter. It is designed for 5V and 3.3V to low-voltage conversion, making it suitable for notebook and subnotebook computers.
This device features internal synchronous rectification for high efficiency, achieving up to 95%. It can deliver continuous load currents up to 1A. The output voltage can be preset to 2.5V, 1.8V, or 1.5V, or adjusted from 1.1V to VIN. The switching frequency can be programmed up to 1MHz, allowing optimization for efficiency, noise, and component size.
The MAX1742EEE operates with an input voltage range of 3V to 5.5V and has a maximum operating supply current of 600μA. It includes features like Idle Mode™ for light-load efficiency, adjustable soft-start, and a low-power shutdown mode that reduces supply current to below 1μA.
Packaged in a 16-QSOP, the MAX1742EEE is designed for surface mount applications. It operates within an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
