The MAX17129ETE+ is a high-efficiency LED driver IC from Analog Devices, suitable for small to medium-sized LCDs. It features an internal switch step-up controller with Quick-PWM™ technology, capable of driving up to six parallel strings of LEDs. Each string can accommodate multiple series-connected LEDs, with an adjustable full-scale LED current ranging from 10mA to 45mA and achieving ±2% current-regulation accuracy.
The device operates over a wide input voltage range of 3V to 26V. It supports both PWM and hybrid dimming modes, with the PWM dimming frequency ranging from 100Hz to 25kHz. The MAX17129 integrates an LDO for simplified applications with a single high-voltage supply and also includes a low-input-voltage mode for 3V to 5.5V supplies.
Protection features include separate voltage-feedback loops, open- and short-LED detection, cycle-by-cycle current limit, and thermal shutdown. The IC is housed in a compact 16-pin, 3mm x 3mm TQFN package with 0.5mm lead spacing, making it ideal for ultra-thin LCD panel designs. The mounting type is surface mount, and it operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C (TA).
