The MAX17112ETB+T from Analog Devices (formerly Maxim Integrated) is a high-performance, step-up DC-DC converter designed for active-matrix thin-film transistor (TFT) liquid-crystal display (LCD) applications.
This device features current-mode, fixed-frequency (1MHz) pulse-width modulation (PWM) circuitry with a built-in n-channel power MOSFET. It offers high efficiency and fast transient response. The input voltage range is 2.6V to 5.5V, and it can generate adjustable output voltages up to 20V. Input overvoltage protection (OVP) is included, preventing damage from input surges up to 24V.
The high switching frequency of 1MHz allows for the use of small inductors and low-ESR ceramic capacitors, contributing to a compact design. The current-mode architecture ensures fast transient response to pulsed loads. Programmable soft-start is available via an external capacitor.
The MAX17112ETB+T is supplied in a 10-pin TDFN package with an exposed pad, measuring 3mm x 3mm. It is suitable for applications such as notebook computer displays and LCD monitor panels. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
