The MAX16946GEE/V+ by Analog Devices is a high-voltage, high-side, current-sense LDO/switch designed for automotive applications. It features internal current limiting to protect systems from fault conditions.
The MAX16946 provides a regulated 8.5V output or an adjustable output voltage ranging from 3.3V to 15V. It can also be configured as a switch. The input voltage range is from 4.5V to 18V, with 45V tolerance, making it suitable for phantom power to remote radio-frequency low-noise amplifiers (LNAs).
This device monitors load current and provides an analog output voltage proportional to it. It protects the input supply against overload and short-circuit conditions. Fault indicator outputs signal short circuits or open loads to a microprocessor. The MAX16946GEE/V+ operates over a -40°C to 105°C temperature range and is available in a 16-QSOP-EP package with surface mount mounting type.
Key features include precision adjustable current limit, fault-blanking, short-to-battery protection, and thermal shutdown. It is AEC-Q100 qualified.
