The MAX1692EUB is a low-noise, pulse-width-modulated (PWM) DC-DC step-down converter designed by Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated. It is suitable for powering logic and transmitters in small wireless systems, including cellular phones, PDAs, and handy-terminals. The device operates with an input voltage range of +2.7V to +5.5V and can provide an adjustable output voltage from 1.25V to VIN, with a guaranteed output current of 600mA.
Key features include high efficiency (up to 95%), an internal synchronous rectifier eliminating the need for an external Schottky diode, and excellent noise characteristics with fixed-frequency operation at 750kHz. It offers multiple operating modes, including Forced PWM, Synchronizable PWM, Idle Mode for battery life extension, and Shutdown mode. The regulator includes a 1.25V reference with ±1.2% accuracy and operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
The MAX1692EUB is available in a compact 10-pin µMAX package, measuring only 1.11mm in height, making it ideal for space-constrained applications. It is well-suited for Li-Ion battery applications and +3V or +5V fixed input systems.
