The current-mode switching DC-DC controller supports multiple topologies including boost, coupled-inductor boost-buck, or SEPIC, operating at a programmable frequency between 200kHz and 2MHz. The full-scale LED current is adjustable from 20mA to 150mA per channel with ±3% accuracy.

 

Key features include pulsed dimming control via a logic input (DIM) and adaptive output-voltage control to minimize power dissipation. The MAX16814AUP/V+T also incorporates essential protection features such as output overvoltage, open-LED detection, shorted-LED detection, and overtemperature protection. It is available in a thermally enhanced 20-pin TSSOP package with an exposed pad, suitable for surface mounting.
