MAX1677EEE Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The MAX1677EEE is a compact, high-efficiency, dual-output boost converter designed for portable applications requiring two regulated power supplies, such as logic and LCD displays. It operates with input voltages as low as 0.7V, accepting 1 to 3-cell batteries or 1-cell lithium-ion batteries.

The primary regulator can supply up to 350mA at a factory-preset 3.3V or an adjustable 2.5V to 5.5V. It utilizes on-chip synchronous rectification for efficiencies up to 95% and operates at 300kHz PWM for low noise. A pin-selectable PFM mode reduces quiescent current to 20µA.

The secondary step-up converter provides up to +28V or -28V for LCD bias or other high-voltage, low-current functions. The device requires no external FETs and includes features like a precision reference, logic control inputs, and an uncommitted comparator for low-battery detection.

Packaged in a 16-pin QSOP, the MAX1677EEE is ideal for space-constrained designs. It operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
