The MAX1668MEE+ is a precise multichannel digital thermometer designed to report temperatures from remote sensors and its own package. It supports both local and remote temperature sensing, utilizing diode-connected transistors as remote sensors for accuracy without calibration. The device features a 2-wire SMBus serial interface for programming alarm thresholds and reading temperature data. The data format is 7 bits plus sign, with each bit corresponding to 1°C in two’s-complement format.
Key electrical specifications include an operating temperature range of -55°C to 125°C, with accuracy of ±2°C for local sensing in the +60°C to +100°C range and ±3°C across the full -40°C to +125°C range. Remote sensing accuracy is ±3°C. The device operates from a 3V to 5.5V supply and consumes a typical standby current of 3µA, with a maximum supply current of 700µA.
