The MAX1644EAE-T is a high-efficiency, constant-off-time PWM step-down DC-DC converter designed for applications like PC cards and CPU daughter cards. It delivers continuous load currents up to 2A and achieves efficiencies as high as 95%.
This device features internal synchronous rectification, eliminating the need for an external Schottky diode. It offers a preset +3.3V or +2.5V output voltage, or an adjustable output from +1.1V to VIN. The converter operates with an input voltage range of +3V to +5.5V and has an operating supply current of 360µA maximum.
The MAX1644EAE-T utilizes a current-mode, constant-off-time PWM control scheme with Idle Mode™ for high light-load efficiency. It supports programmable constant-off-time operation, allowing switching frequencies up to 350kHz. Additional features include adjustable soft-start, 100% duty cycle for low-dropout operation, and a low-power shutdown mode reducing supply current below 1µA.
Available in a 16-pin SSOP package, the MAX1644EAE-T is suitable for surface mount applications. Its compact size and integrated features make it ideal for space-constrained designs.
