The MAX153EWP+ is a high-speed, microprocessor-compatible, 8-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices. It utilizes a half-flash technique to achieve a 660ns conversion time and can digitize at a rate of 1M samples per second (Msps).
This ADC operates with single +5V or dual ±5V supplies and accepts either unipolar or bipolar inputs. It features a power-down mode that reduces current consumption to a typical value of 1µA, making it suitable for battery-powered systems. The part returns from power-down to normal operating mode in less than 200ns.
The MAX153EWP+ has a 1MHz full-power bandwidth and an internal track/hold circuit. Its µP interface requires no external interface logic, and the data outputs use latched, three-state buffered circuitry for direct connection to a µP data bus. The ADC's input/reference arrangement enables ratiometric operation.
Packaged in a 20-SOIC, the MAX153EWP+ is designed for applications such as cellular telephones, portable radios, battery-powered systems, burst-mode data acquisition, digital-signal processing, telecommunications, and high-speed servo loops.
