The MAX1508ETA+T from Maxim Integrated is an intelligent, stand-alone constant-current, constant-voltage (CCCV) linear charger designed for single-cell lithium-ion batteries. This IC simplifies charging solutions by integrating the current-sense circuit, pass element, and thermal regulation, eliminating the need for an external blocking diode. It manages the charging sequence from prequalification through fast-charge, top-off, and full-charge indication.
Key features include programmable fast-charge current up to 0.8A, proprietary thermal regulation limiting die temperature to +100°C, and an input voltage range of +4.25V to +13V with overvoltage protection above +7V. The MAX1508ETA+T also provides charging status output and input power-source detection.
This charger is available in a compact 8-pin, 3mm x 3mm thin DFN package with a height of 0.8mm, making it suitable for space-constrained applications. It operates over an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
