MAX15041ETE+

The MAX15041ETE+ from Analog Devices is a synchronous step-down (buck) DC-DC converter designed for efficiency and ease of use. It delivers up to 3A of continuous output current, making it suitable for distributed power systems, preregulation, set-top boxes, and consumer electronics.

This regulator operates from an input voltage range of 4.5V to 28V and offers an adjustable output voltage from 0.6V up to 90% of the input voltage, set by external resistors. It features a fixed 350kHz switching frequency and internal MOSFETs with low RDS-ON (170mΩ high-side, 105mΩ low-side) to improve efficiency and reduce component count. The device includes cycle-by-cycle overcurrent protection, thermal shutdown, and an internal 5V LDO with undervoltage lockout.

The MAX15041ETE+ is housed in a space-saving, thermally enhanced 3mm x 3mm, 16-pin TQFN-EP package. It is fully specified for operation over an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The synchronous rectification design eliminates the need for an external Schottky diode, simplifying the design and reducing board space.

Key features include ±1% output accuracy over temperature, programmable soft-start for reduced inrush current, and stable operation with low-ESR ceramic output capacitors. It also provides independent enable control and power-good signals for flexible power sequencing.
