The MAX1488EESD+ is a quad, low-power line driver designed for harsh environments, supporting EIA/TIA-232, EIA/TIA-562, and CCITT V.28 communications. Each transmitter output is protected against ±15kV electrostatic discharge (ESD) shocks, meeting IEC1000-4-2 standards for air-gap and contact discharge.
This device guarantees a 120kbps data rate and operates from a wide supply voltage range of ±4.5V to ±13.2V, with a low supply current of less than 180μA. The inputs are TTL and CMOS compatible, while the outputs feature internally controlled slew-rate and current limiting. No external capacitors are required for slew-rate limiting.
The MAX1488EESD+ is available in a 14-pin SO package and is pin compatible with older industry standards like MC1488 and SN75188. Its robust design makes it suitable for applications such as PC motherboards and modems.
