MAX14866UTM+ Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The MAX14866UTM+ is a 16-channel, high-voltage (HV) analog SPST switch designed for multiplexing in ultrasound applications. It operates from a single low-voltage supply (+5V), eliminating the need for dedicated HV supplies, which simplifies the system and enhances safety, especially for in-probe applications.

This switch offers best-in-class performance with a bandwidth of up to 50MHz, low charge injection (<100pC), and a linear transmit input range of up to 210V PKPK. The low-signal switch R DSON is typically 7Ω and remains flat across the input range, ensuring excellent linearity. Its latchup-free SOI technology provides high robustness against voltage undershoots and overshoots common in ultrasound systems.

The MAX14866UTM+ can be controlled individually via a high-speed SPI interface (up to 30MHz) or globally using SET and CLR signals for bank selections or relay replacement. It is available in a 48-TQFN (7x7mm) package, offering a high level of integration for space-saving designs.

Key electrical characteristics include a low on-resistance of 7Ω typical, low on-input capacitance of 33pF, and low off-input capacitance of 7.7pF. The device supports an analog input range from 1.7V to 5.5V and operates within a temperature range of 0°C to 85°C.
