The MAX1480ACPI+ is a hybrid microcircuit providing a complete, electrically isolated RS-485/RS-422 data interface. It integrates transceivers, optocouplers, and a transformer, powered by a single +5V supply on the logic side.
This transceiver supports half-duplex communication at data rates up to 2.5Mbps. The drivers are protected against short-circuit conditions and excessive power dissipation via thermal shutdown circuitry. The receiver input includes a fail-safe feature for open-circuit conditions.
Designed for applications requiring robust data communication, the MAX1480ACPI+ typically withstands 1600V RMS for one minute or 2000V RMS for one second. Its isolated outputs meet all RS-485/RS-422 specifications.
