The MAX146ACAP is a 12-bit data acquisition system from Analog Devices, part of the MAX146/MAX147 series. It combines an 8-channel multiplexer, track/hold, and a serial interface with high conversion speed and low power consumption.
This ADC operates from a single +2.7V to +3.6V supply. Its analog inputs are software configurable for unipolar/bipolar and single-ended/differential operation. The 4-wire serial interface connects directly to SPI, QSPI, and MICROWIRE devices without external logic. A serial strobe output allows direct connection to TMS320-family digital signal processors.
The MAX146ACAP features an internal 2.5V reference and a reference-buffer amplifier. It offers both a hard-wired SHDN pin and software-selectable power-down modes, which can be programmed to automatically shut down at the end of a conversion. This power-down capability can reduce supply current to under 60µA at reduced sampling rates.
Available in a 20-SSOP package, the MAX146ACAP is suitable for applications such as portable data logging, medical instruments, pen digitizers, data acquisition, battery-powered instruments, and process control.
