The MAX13485EESA+T is a +5V, half-duplex, ESD-protected RS-485 transceiver from Analog Devices. It features one driver and one receiver, with true fail-safe circuitry that guarantees a logic-high receiver output when inputs are open or shorted. This device includes hot-swap capability to prevent false transitions during power-up or live insertion.
The MAX13485E variant features reduced slew-rate drivers that minimize EMI and reduce reflections, allowing for error-free transmission up to 500kbps. The receiver input impedance is 1/4 unit load, enabling up to 128 transceivers on the bus. All driver outputs are protected to ±15kV ESD using the Human Body Model.
