The MAX11168EUB+ is a high-performance 16-bit Successive Approximation Register (SAR) Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) from Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated, capable of operating at throughput rates up to 500kSPS. This ADC offers excellent DC and AC performance, including a 92.3dB SNR and -101dB THD at 10kHz. It features a true bipolar input range of ±5V (10V peak-to-peak) and operates from a single 5V analog supply, with digital supplies ranging from 2.3V to 5V.
Key features include an integrated low-drift reference with an internal buffer, saving cost and space. The MAX11168 guarantees 16-bit no-missing codes and ±0.75 LSB INL (typical). It communicates via an SPI-compatible serial interface, supporting daisy-chaining for multichannel applications. The device is housed in a compact 10-pin, 3mm x 5mm µMAX package and is specified for operation over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range.
Applications for the MAX11168EUB+ include industrial process control, data acquisition systems, medical instrumentation, and automatic test equipment. Its combination of high accuracy, integrated features, low power consumption (37.6mW at 500kSPS), and small package size makes it suitable for space-constrained designs.
