The MAX1106CUB+ is an 8-bit, single-channel, successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) designed for low-power applications. It operates from a single supply voltage range of +2.7V to +3.6V and consumes only 96µA at 25ksps.
This ADC features an internal track/hold (T/H), voltage reference, and clock. The analog inputs are pin-configurable for unipolar and single-ended or differential operation. The full-scale analog input range is determined by the internal reference of +2.048V or an externally applied reference. A pin-selectable power-down mode reduces consumption to 0.5µA when not in use.
The 3-wire serial interface is SPI, QSPI, and MICROWIRE compatible, allowing direct connection to microcontrollers without external logic. Conversions up to 25ksps are performed using the internal clock. The MAX1106CUB+ is available in a compact 10-pin µMAX package, offering a small footprint ideal for space-constrained designs.
Applications include portable data logging, hand-held measurement devices, medical instruments, system diagnostics, and solar-powered remote systems.
