The MACOM MAMXSS0012 is a low-cost, passive MMIC mixer suitable for applications requiring high-level RF signals and wide dynamic range. It is designed for frequency up/down conversion, modulation, and demodulation in receivers and transmitters for base station and portable systems.
This mixer features an input power at 1 dB compression of +15 dBm and high LO to RF isolation of 35 dB. The LO drive level is specified between +3 dBm and +8 dBm. It offers a 3 dB IF bandwidth from DC to 200 MHz and does not require DC bias.
The MAMXSS0012 employs GaAs FETs as mixing elements, fabricated using a mature 0.5 micron gate length GaAs MESFET process. It is housed in a lead-free SOT-25 package with 100% matte tin plating over copper, halogen-free mold compound, and is 260°C reflow compatible.
Typical applications include frequency conversion in portable communication systems. The LO port may be externally tuned for operation in various frequency bands.
