MA4AGSW4

The MA4AGSW4 is an Aluminum-Gallium-Arsenide (AlGaAs) single pole, four throw (SP4T) PIN diode switch designed for high-frequency applications. It features MACOM's unique AlGaAs hetero-junction anode technology, enabling reduced insertion loss compared to conventional GaAs processes, with up to a 0.3 dB reduction at 50 GHz.

This switch boasts an ultra-broad bandwidth from 50 MHz to 50 GHz, with typical insertion loss of 0.7 dB and isolation of 31 dB at 50 GHz. It offers low current consumption, requiring -10 mA for the low loss state and +10 mA for the isolation state. The device is fabricated on an OMCVD epitaxial wafer, designed for high device uniformity and extremely low parasitics, with diodes exhibiting low series resistance, low capacitance, and fast switching speeds.

It is fully passivated with silicon nitride and includes a polymer scratch protection layer to prevent damage during handling and assembly. Off-chip bias circuitry is required. The high electron mobility of AlGaAs and low capacitance of the PIN diodes make this switch ideal for fast response, high-frequency, multi-throw switch designs.

Applications include Aerospace & Defense and ISM. The device is supplied in a Die package.
