MA4AGSW1

The MA4AGSW1 is a Single Pole Single Throw (SPST) reflective PIN diode switch manufactured by MACOM Technology Solutions. It is designed for ultra-broadband applications, covering a frequency range from 50 MHz to 50 GHz, with a functional bandwidth extending to 70 GHz.

Key electrical specifications include a low insertion loss of 0.3 dB and high isolation of 46 dB at 50 GHz. The switch operates with low current consumption, utilizing -5 V for the low loss state and +10 mA for the isolation state. It features an AlGaAs hetero-junction anode technology for reduced loss compared to conventional GaAs processes.

Fabricated using OMCVD epitaxial wafer technology, the MA4AGSW1 offers high device uniformity and extremely low parasitics. The diodes exhibit low series resistance, low capacitance, and fast switching speeds. The device is passivated with silicon nitride and includes a polymer layer for scratch protection during handling and assembly. Off-chip bias circuitry is required.

This switch is ideal for fast switching, high-frequency applications, including switching arrays for radar systems, radiometers, and test equipment. Its construction and performance characteristics make it suitable for aerospace and defense, and ISM applications.
