The Infineon MA12070 is a highly efficient audio power amplifier based on proprietary multi-level switching technology. It operates from a 4V to 26V supply voltage range (PVDD) and a +5V system supply (DVDD, AVDD), making it suitable for various applications like battery-operated speakers, wireless speakers, and soundbars.
This amplifier features a digital power management scheme that dynamically adjusts switching frequency and modulation to optimize power loss and EMI. It offers high power efficiency, with idle power dissipation less than 160mW and efficiencies exceeding 80% at 2W and 91% at full power. Audio performance is also strong, with a DNR greater than 110dB and low distortion.
The MA12070 supports flexible output stage configurations, ranging from four single-ended outputs to a single parallel-BTL output. It includes comprehensive protection features against DC, short-circuits, over-temperature, and under-voltage situations. Device configuration is managed via an I2C interface or dedicated control pins.
The device is available in a 64-pin QFN package with an exposed thermal pad, designed for heatsink-free operation. Its filterless amplification capability simplifies design and reduces component count.
The MA12070 supports a PVDD supply voltage range of 4V to 26V, and a system supply voltage of 5V (A/DVDD).
The MA12070 provides 2x30W of continuous output power into an 8Ω load at 22V PVDD, with 10% THD+N, without a heatsink.
The MA12070 can deliver 2x80W of peak output power with a 26V PVDD supply into a 4Ω load at 10% THD+N.
The MA12070 offers high efficiency, exceeding 80% at 2W power and over 91% at full power (1kHz sine, 8Ω). Idle power dissipation is less than 160mW.
