M252SC2AE Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The NuMicro® M252SC2AE is a low-power microcontroller built on the Arm® Cortex®-M23 core, supporting the Armv8-M architecture. It operates at speeds up to 48 MHz and features 32 Kbytes of embedded Flash memory and 12 Kbytes of embedded SRAM. Additionally, it includes 4 Kbytes of Flash loader memory (LDROM) for In-System Programming (ISP).

This 32-bit microcontroller supports a wide supply voltage range from 1.8 V to 5.5 V and operates in temperatures from -40 °C to +105 °C. Its low power consumption in various modes, including Normal Run, Idle, Power Down, and Deep Power-down, makes it suitable for battery-powered IoT applications. The device integrates Nuvoton's proprietary Programmable Serial I/O (PSIO) interface for flexible communication with peripherals and a Voltage Adjustable Interface (VAI) with 6 I/O pins to support a second I/O voltage.

Security features include a 1-region programmable eXecute-Only-Memory (XOM), a tamper pin, 96-bit Unique Identification (UID), and 128-bit Unique Customer Identification (UCID). The M252SC2AE is equipped with numerous peripherals such as Timers, Watchdog Timers, RTC, up to 50 GPIOs, 24 PWM channels, 2 USCI, 3 UART, 1 QSPI, 1 SPI/I²S, 2 I²C, 1 ISO-7816-3, and 5 PDMA channels, making it versatile for various applications including LED lighting control. It also integrates analog front-end blocks like a 16-channel 12-bit 880 kSPS ADC, analog comparator, and temperature sensor.
