The LTM8027IV#PBF is a complete 4A, DC/DC step-down power supply from Analog Devices Inc. (formerly Linear Technology). As a µModule regulator, it integrates the switching controller, power switches, inductor, and support components in a compact 15mm × 15mm × 4.3mm over-molded land grid array (LGA) package. Only external bulk input and output capacitors are required to complete the design.
This non-isolated point-of-load module operates over a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 60V (7.5V minimum to start) and provides an adjustable output voltage from 2.5V to 24V, set by a single resistor. The switching frequency is programmable from 100kHz to 500kHz via another resistor, enabling optimization for efficiency or component size. Typical efficiency reaches up to 95%.
The LTM8027 is designed for demanding environments with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. It includes a programmable soft-start function and consumes only 9µA in shutdown.
