The LTM4657IY#PBF is a non-isolated PoL (Point-of-Load) step-down DC/DC µModule regulator from Analog Devices. It integrates a switching controller, power FETs, inductor, and support components in a compact 49-BFBGA package measuring 6.25mm x 6.25mm x 3.87mm. Designed for surface mount assembly, it requires only bulk input and output capacitors for operation.
This regulator delivers up to 8A continuous output current over an input voltage range of 3.1V to 20V. The output voltage is adjustable from 0.5V to 5.5V with a single external resistor, maintaining a total DC output voltage error of ±1.5% maximum over line, load, and temperature. Features include differential remote sensing, current mode control for fast transient response, external frequency synchronization, and multiphase parallel current sharing with multiple LTM4657s.
Protection features include overvoltage, overcurrent, and overtemperature protection. The device also supports selectable discontinuous mode operation and output voltage tracking for supply rail sequencing. The LTM4657IY#PBF is suitable for telecom, datacom, networking, industrial, and medical diagnostic equipment.
The part is available in a 49-BGA (6.25x6.25) package with solder ball termination. It operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
