The LTM2881HY-3 from Analog Devices is a fully integrated, galvanically isolated RS485/RS422 transceiver µModule. It requires no external components and provides 2500Vrms of isolation between the line transceiver and the logic interface, making it ideal for breaking ground loops and handling large common-mode voltage variations. Communication is guaranteed for common-mode transients greater than 30kV/µs.
This transceiver supports maximum data rates of 20Mbps or 250kbps in slew-limited mode. It features enhanced ESD protection, withstanding up to ±15kV HBM on transceiver interface pins and ±10kV through the isolation barrier. The device includes an integrated, isolated 5V output DC/DC converter and a logic supply pin for flexible interfacing with logic levels from 1.62V to 5.5V.
The LTM2881HY-3 is supplied in a 32-BGA (15x11.25mm) package and is suitable for surface mounting. It is designed for applications such as industrial networks and isolated PROFIBUS-DP networks, offering high input impedance and failsafe RS485 receiver capabilities.
