The Littelfuse LTKAK6-066C is a high-power Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode in a compact SMTO-218 surface mount package. It utilizes Littelfuse's FoldbakTM technology for superior clamping characteristics, providing a clamping voltage lower than the avalanche voltage but above the rated working voltage. This minimizes voltage rise during current conduction, offering an enhanced level of protection.
Key electrical specifications include a 66V standoff voltage (VSO) and a maximum clamping voltage (VC) of 120V at 10A peak pulse current. The diode can handle a minimum peak pulse current of 6000A (6kA) for an 8/20µs waveform. It also features a maximum reverse leakage current of 10µA at its standoff voltage and a capacitance of 5.5nF at 0V bias and 10kHz.
Designed for automatic pick-and-place assembly and reflow processes, the SMTO-218 package offers a more compact PCB layout compared to traditional through-hole components. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 125°C (TJ), with a storage temperature range of -55°C to 150°C. The component meets MSL level 1 requirements and is Pb-free (E3 compliant).
This TVS diode is suitable for general-purpose applications requiring robust transient voltage suppression. Its design allows for series or parallel combinations to achieve various clamping levels and surge withstand capabilities.
