The Analog Devices LTC7800IUDC#TRPBF is a high-performance, constant-frequency current-mode step-down switching regulator controller. It drives an all N-channel synchronous power MOSFET stage and supports a phase-lockable frequency up to 2.25MHz. The controller is designed for a wide input supply range of 4V to 60V, making it suitable for various intermediate bus voltages and battery chemistries. Its output voltage can be programmed from 0.8V to 24V.
Key features include a low operating quiescent current of 50μA, which extends battery life, and a very low dropout operation with a 98% duty cycle. The LTC7800 also includes a precision 0.8V reference, a power good output indicator, and selectable operating modes (Burst Mode, pulse-skipping, or continuous conduction) for light loads. The TRACK/SS pin allows for adjustable output voltage soft-start or tracking, and current foldback limits MOSFET heat dissipation during short-circuit conditions.
