The LTC4007EGN#TRPBF from Analog Devices is a versatile battery charger controller designed for 3- or 4-cell lithium-ion battery packs. It utilizes a synchronous, quasi-constant frequency, constant off-time PWM architecture for efficient operation, achieving up to 96% conversion efficiency.

This IC supports output currents exceeding 4A and features programmable charge current with ±4% accuracy. The output float voltage is pin-programmed for cell count and chemistry, supporting 4.2V/4.1V per cell. It includes built-in charge termination for Li-Ion batteries and a timer programmed by an external resistor.

Key features include a wide input voltage range of 6V to 28V, a low dropout voltage of 0.5V, and a maximum duty cycle of 98%. The device also incorporates a thermistor input for temperature-qualified charging and a low-battery indicator that can program a trickle charge current for depleted batteries.
