The LTC3729EUH#TR is a multiple-phase, synchronous step-down current mode switching regulator controller manufactured by Analog Devices. It drives N-channel external power MOSFET stages in a phase-lockable fixed frequency architecture.
This controller supports an input voltage range from 4V to 36V, reducing required input capacitance and power supply induced noise. It offers ±1% output voltage accuracy and operates at a phase-lockable fixed frequency between 250kHz and 550kHz. The PolyPhase technology extends from two to twelve phases, reducing the size and value of inductors and ensuring current sharing. The effective switching frequency for a 2-phase configuration is 1.1MHz.
Key features include true remote sensing with an internal differential amplifier, OPTI-LOOP compensation for optimized transient response, and a power good output indicator. It also provides adjustable soft-start current ramping, internal current foldback, and a shutdown timer. The device is available in a 32QFN package and is suitable for applications such as desktop computers, large memory arrays, and DC power distribution systems.
