The Analog Devices LTC3533EDE#TRPBF is a 2A wide input voltage synchronous buck-boost DC/DC converter. It is designed for applications where the input voltage can be above, below, or equal to the output voltage, such as single-cell lithium-ion/polymer or multi-cell alkaline/NiMH battery-powered devices.
This converter features a wide input voltage range of 1.8V to 5.5V and an output voltage that can be adjusted. It offers up to 96% efficiency due to synchronous rectification and supports continuous output currents of 0.8A (VIN > 1.8V) and 2A (VIN > 3V). The switching frequency is programmable from 300kHz to 2MHz using an external resistor.
Additional features include programmable Burst Mode operation for low quiescent current (40µA), <1µA shutdown current, output disconnect in shutdown, short circuit protection, programmable soft-start, current limit, and thermal shutdown. The LTC3533EDE#TRPBF is housed in a small, thermally enhanced 14-lead DFN package (4x3mm).
This device is suitable for applications like GSM modems, handheld instruments, digital cameras, smartphones, media players, and miniature hard disk drive power supplies.
