The LT4356IDE-3#PBF is a surge stopper with fault latchoff from Analog Devices Inc./Maxim Integrated. It protects loads from high voltage transients by regulating the output during overvoltage events, such as automotive load dump, via an external N-channel MOSFET. The output clamp voltage is adjustable, nominally set to 27V. Overcurrent protection is provided by monitoring the voltage drop between VCC and SNS pins, with a current sense limit of 50mV. In fault conditions, a timer inversely proportional to MOSFET stress starts; if the fault persists, the MOSFET is turned off until the SHDN pin is pulled low.
The device operates over a wide supply voltage range of 4V to 80V and features reverse input protection to -60V. Shutdown current is typically 7µA. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C, suitable for industrial and automotive environments. The auxiliary amplifier can be used as a voltage detection comparator or linear regulator controller.
