The LT3650EDD-4.2#PBF from Analog Devices is a complete monolithic single-cell Li-Ion/Polymer battery charger. It is designed for applications requiring a wide input voltage range, from 4.75V to 32V, with a minimum start-up voltage of 7.5V. This charger provides a constant-current/constant-voltage charge characteristic, with the maximum charge current externally programmable up to 2A.
Key features include a precondition trickle-charge for low voltage batteries, bad-battery detection, and user-selectable termination schemes (C/10 or an onboard timer). It also offers a programmable input current limit, no VIN blocking diode requirement, and a fixed 1MHz switching frequency.
