LT3465AES6

The LT3465AES6 by Analog Devices is a versatile step-up DC/DC converter specifically designed for driving multiple white LEDs in series from a single Li-Ion cell. This configuration ensures inherently matched LED currents, eliminating the need for external ballast resistors.

The device offers a wide input voltage range from 2.7V to 16V and can deliver an output voltage of up to 30V. It integrates a Schottky diode, simplifying the external component count. The LT3465 variant operates at a 1.2MHz switching frequency, while the LT3465A switches at a higher 2.4MHz, both allowing for the use of small external components, including a minimal 0.22µF output capacitor for 3- to 5-LED applications.

Key features include automatic soft-start (LT3465), open LED protection, and one-pin shutdown and dimming control. The LT3465AES6 boasts high efficiency, reaching up to 81% for the LT3465 and 79% for the LT3465A. It is available in a low-profile (1mm) 6-lead SOT-23 ThinSOT package, making it suitable for space-constrained applications.
