The LT1962 series are micropower, low noise, low dropout regulators capable of supplying 300mA of output current with a dropout voltage of 270mV. Designed for battery-powered systems, the low 30µA quiescent current is ideal, and it does not rise in dropout.
A key feature is the low output noise, which drops to 20µVRMS over a 10Hz to 100kHz bandwidth with an external 0.01µF bypass capacitor. The regulators are stable with output capacitors as low as 3.3µF, and small ceramic capacitors can be used without the series resistance required by other regulators.
Internal protection circuitry includes reverse battery protection, current limiting, thermal limiting, and reverse current protection. The LT1962 series is available in fixed output voltages of 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3V, 3.3V, and 5V, as well as an adjustable version. These regulators are available in the 8-lead MSOP package.
Applications include cellular phones, battery-powered systems, and noise-sensitive instrumentation systems.
The input voltage range is 1.8V to 20V.
The typical output current is 300mA.
The typical quiescent current is 30µA.
Available fixed voltages: 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3V, 3.3V, and 5V. An adjustable version supports 1.22V to 20V.
It is available in an MSOP-8 package for surface mount assembly.
The typical dropout voltage is 270mV at 300mA output.
The output noise is 20µVRMS over a 10Hz to 100kHz bandwidth with an external 0.01µF bypass capacitor.
