The LT1962EMS8#PBF is a series of micropower, low noise, low dropout regulators designed by Analog Devices for battery-powered systems. These devices can deliver up to 300mA of output current with a low dropout voltage of 270mV. The low quiescent current of 30µA makes them ideal for power-sensitive applications.
A key feature of the LT1962 series is its low output noise, which can be reduced to 20µVRMS over a 10Hz to 100kHz bandwidth with an external 0.01µF bypass capacitor. These regulators are stable with output capacitors as low as 3.3µF, allowing the use of small ceramic capacitors without the need for series resistance.
Internal protection circuitry includes reverse battery protection, current limiting, and thermal limiting. The LT1962EMS8#PBF is available in fixed output voltages of 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3V, 3.3V, and 5V, as well as an adjustable version. The regulator is supplied in an 8-lead MSOP package, suitable for space-constrained designs.
Applications for the LT1962EMS8#PBF include cellular phones, battery-powered systems, and noise-sensitive instrumentation systems where stable and low-noise power delivery is critical.
