The LT1962EMS8#PBF is a series of micropower, low noise, low dropout regulators from Analog Devices, capable of supplying 300mA of output current with a dropout voltage of 270mV. Designed for battery-powered systems, these regulators feature a low quiescent current of 30µA, which remains stable even in dropout conditions.
A key characteristic of the LT1962 series is its low output noise. With an external 0.01µF bypass capacitor, the output noise can be reduced to 20µV RMS over a 10Hz to 100kHz bandwidth. These regulators are stable with output capacitors as low as 3.3µF, allowing the use of small ceramic capacitors without the need for series resistance.
Internal protection circuitry includes reverse battery protection, current limiting, thermal limiting, and reverse current protection. The LT1962EMS8#PBF is available in fixed output voltages (1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3V, 3.3V, 5V) and as an adjustable device with a 1.22V reference voltage. It comes in an 8-lead MSOP package, suitable for surface mounting.
Applications for the LT1962EMS8#PBF include cellular phones, battery-powered systems, and noise-sensitive instrumentation systems where low power consumption and low noise are critical.
