The LT1762EMS8#TRPBF is a series of micropower, low noise, low dropout linear regulators designed for battery-powered applications. These devices can supply up to 150mA of output current with a typical dropout voltage of 270mV. The low quiescent current of 25µA makes them suitable for power-sensitive systems.
A key feature of the LT1762 series is its low output noise, which can be further reduced to 20µVRMS over a 10Hz to 100kHz bandwidth with an external 0.01µF bypass capacitor. The regulators are stable with output capacitors as low as 2.2µF, including small ceramic capacitors, without requiring series resistance.
Internal protection circuitry includes reverse battery protection, current limiting, and thermal limiting. The LT1762EMS8#TRPBF is available in an adjustable output version with a 1.22V reference voltage and comes in an 8-lead MSOP package. It operates over a wide input voltage range of 1.8V to 20V and is suitable for applications such as cellular phones, battery-powered systems, frequency synthesizers, and noise-sensitive instrumentation.
