The LT1030 is a quadruple low-power line driver manufactured by Linear Technology. It is designed to meet or exceed the requirements of ANSI EIA/TIA-232-F specifications. This device operates over a supply voltage range of ±5 V to ±15 V, consuming a typical supply current of 500 μA. When shut down, it draws zero supply current.
The outputs of the LT1030 can be driven up to ±30 V and feature a 10-mA output drive capability. A key advantage is the high-impedance output state when the device is off or powered down, allowing multiple drivers on the same bus. The outputs swing to within 200 mV of the positive supply and 1 V of the negative supply, minimizing supply voltage requirements.
The LT1030 is characterized for operation from 0°C to 70°C. It is available in Small Outline (D) and Plastic DIP (N) packages. The D package is also available taped and reeled.
This line driver is suitable for applications such as EIA/TIA-232-F drivers, micropower interfaces, and level translators.
