The NXP Semiconductors LS1046ASN8Q1A is a high-performance microprocessor from the QorIQ Layerscape family, featuring four 64-bit Arm Cortex-A72 CPUs. These cores are arranged in a single cluster, sharing a 2 MB L2 cache and capable of operating at speeds up to 1.8 GHz. Each core includes 32 KB L1 data cache and 48 KB L1 instruction cache.

The processor incorporates a hierarchical interconnect fabric operating up to 700 MHz and a 32-bit/64-bit DDR4 SDRAM memory controller with ECC and interleaving support, reaching speeds up to 2.1 GT/s. It also includes the Data Path Acceleration Architecture (DPAA) for optimized packet processing, queue management, buffer management, and cryptography acceleration.

Connectivity is extensive, with two RGMII interfaces, eight SerDes lanes supporting multiple high-speed peripheral interfaces including three PCI Express 3.0 controllers, one SATA 6 Gbit/s controller, up to two XFI (10 GbE) interfaces, and various SGMII/QSGMII interfaces. Additional peripherals include QSPI, SPI, NAND/NOR flash controller, three USB 3.0 controllers with integrated PHY, an Enhanced Secure Digital Host Controller, four I2C controllers, DUARTs, LPUARTs, GPIO, Flextimers, and DMA controllers.

The LS1046ASN8Q1A is supplied in a 780 FC-PBGA package measuring 23 mm x 23 mm and is designed for surface mounting. It operates within a temperature range of 0°C to 105°C.
