The Power Integrations LNK562PN is a LinkSwitch-LP series switcher IC that effectively replaces unregulated isolated linear transformer-based power supplies up to 3W. It is designed for worldwide operation with a single universal input. This IC features very tight parameter tolerances, enabling Clampless™ designs that reduce component count and system cost while increasing efficiency.
Key features include hysteretic thermal shutdown protection for improved field reliability and auto-restart for fault conditions, reducing delivered power by over 85% during short circuit or open loop faults. The frequency jittering significantly reduces EMI, allowing for low-cost input filter configurations.
