The LMX2350TMX/NOPB from Texas Instruments is a monolithic integrated fractional N/Integer N frequency synthesizer designed for radio transceiver local oscillator subsystems. Fabricated using a 0.5µ ABiC V silicon BiCMOS process, this dual synthesizer supports frequencies of 2.5 GHz and 550 MHz for the LMX2350 variant.
It features dual modulus prescalers and modulo 15 or 16 fractional compensation circuitry in the RF divider. The device operates over a wide supply voltage range of 2.7 V to 5.5 V. The RF PLL includes a programmable charge pump with output current magnitudes from 100µA to 1.6mA. The LMX2350TMX/NOPB is available in a 24-pin TSSOP surface mount package.
Key features include low current consumption, programmable or logical power down mode, and digital filtered lock detect. This frequency synthesizer is suitable for applications in portable wireless communications, dual mode cellular telephone systems, and spread spectrum communication systems.
