The LMH0397RTVR from Texas Instruments is an active 3G-SDI bidirectional I/O device with an integrated reclocker, designed for professional video applications. It supports multiple standards including ST-424 (3G), ST-292 (HD), and ST-259 (SD), as well as DVB-ASI and AES10 (MADI).

This device features an integrated reclocker that locks to SMPTE rates of 2.97 Gbps, 1.485 Gbps, or subrates, and 270 Mbps. It offers user-configurable adaptive cable equalization or cable driver functionality. In EQ mode, it acts as an adaptive cable equalizer with a reclocker and a 100-Ohm output driver with de-emphasis, providing a reclocked 75-Ohm loop-through output. Cable reach in EQ mode can extend up to 200 meters at 2.97 Gbps.

In CD (cable driver) mode, it provides dual differential output cable drivers with an integrated reclocker and adaptive PCB input equalization. It includes automatic pre-emphasis and slew rate control on 75-Ohm outputs, with polarity inversion capabilities on both 75-Ohm and 100-Ohm outputs. The device also features automatic power saving in the absence of an input signal.

The LMH0397RTVR operates from a single 2.5-V supply and has a typical power dissipation of 25 mW, with EQ mode consuming around 275 mW and CD mode around 290 mW. It is programmable via pins, SPI, or SMBus interfaces. The component is housed in a 32-pin WQFN package measuring 5 mm x 5 mm, suitable for surface mounting.
