LM94021BIMG Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The Texas Instruments LM94021BIMG is a CMOS integrated circuit temperature sensor with an analog voltage output. It is designed for low-voltage operation, functioning with a supply voltage as low as 1.5V and up to 5.5V. The sensor covers a wide operating temperature range from -50°C to 150°C.

This device offers four selectable gains, allowing for output slopes of -5.5 mV/°C, -8.2 mV/°C, -10.9 mV/°C, and -13.6 mV/°C. This programmability enables optimization for temperature sensitivity. The LM94021BIMG features an accuracy of ±1.5°C at 20°C to 40°C, and up to ±2.7°C over the full -50°C to 150°C range.

Designed for ease of integration, the LM94021BIMG is housed in an extremely small SC-70-5 package, making it suitable for space-constrained applications. It is footprint compatible with the industry-standard LM20 temperature sensor. The gain-select inputs can be directly connected to VDD or Ground, reducing component count. Its low supply current of 9 μA (typical) makes it ideal for battery-powered systems.

Applications for the LM94021BIMG include cell phones, wireless transceivers, battery management, automotive systems, disk drives, games, appliances, and general temperature sensing. The output is short-circuit protected.
