The Texas Instruments LM83CIMQAX/NOPB is a versatile digital temperature sensor designed for accurate temperature monitoring. It features the ability to sense its own temperature locally, as well as the temperature of three remote devices or diode junctions. This sensor communicates via an I2C/SMBus compatible interface, supporting SMBus 1.1.
Key specifications include an operating voltage range of 3.0V to 3.6V and a low supply current of 0.8mA maximum. The accuracy for local temperature sensing is ±3°C within the 0°C to +85°C range, while remote diode temperature accuracy is ±3°C from +25°C to +100°C and ±4°C from 0°C to +125°C. The operating temperature range for the device itself is -40°C to 125°C.
This sensor is available in a 16-SSOP package, suitable for surface mount applications. It provides a 7-bit plus sign temperature data format with 1°C resolution. The LM83CIMQAX/NOPB also includes features like ALERT output and T_CRIT_A# interrupt outputs, along with register readback capability. Two address select pins allow for up to 9 LM83 devices to be connected on a single bus.
