The LM75BIMX-3 from Texas Instruments is an industry-standard digital temperature sensor featuring an integrated Sigma-Delta analog-to-digital converter and an I2C interface. This sensor provides precise 9-bit digital temperature readings with a maximum accuracy of ±2°C over the -25°C to 100°C range, and ±3°C across the full -55°C to 125°C operating temperature range.
Communication is handled via a two-wire interface that supports speeds up to 400kHz. The device includes three address pins, allowing up to eight LM75 devices to be connected on the same bus. Key features include a programmable over-temperature output (O.S.) with hysteresis and programmable fault tolerance. It operates from a supply voltage of 3V to 5.5V and consumes a typical operating current of 280 μA, with a shutdown mode reducing consumption to 4 μA.
Packaged in an 8-pin SOIC surface-mount configuration, the LM75BIMX-3 requires no external components for basic operation. It supports standalone operation as a thermostat with power-up defaults. The sensor is suitable for various temperature monitoring applications where precise and reliable readings are essential.
