The LM75ADP,118 from NXP Semiconductors is a digital temperature sensor designed for accurate ambient temperature monitoring. It utilizes an on-chip band gap temperature sensor and Sigma-delta A-to-D conversion technique to provide a temperature resolution of 0.125°C.
This device operates over a wide temperature range from -55°C to 125°C and is powered by a supply voltage ranging from 2.8V to 5.5V. The LM75ADP,118 communicates via a 2-wire I2C-bus interface, allowing up to eight devices to be connected on the same bus. It offers an 11-bit ADC for high temperature resolution and includes features like programmable temperature threshold and hysteresis set points.
The sensor is housed in an 8-TSSOP package, suitable for surface mount applications. It can be configured for normal operation mode to periodically monitor temperature or shutdown mode to minimize power consumption. The device also includes an open-drain output (OS) for overtemperature detection.
Key specifications include an accuracy of ±2°C from -25°C to 100°C and ±3°C from -55°C to 125°C. The supply current in shutdown mode is as low as 3.5 μA, making it suitable for power-sensitive applications.
